
1975 Born in Schaffausen, the son and grandson of watchmakers, Felix grows up among exceptional and complicated timepieces in his father's restoration atelier and this forges his horological culture.
1992 Graduate form the Watchmaking School in Solothurn
1995 He settles in Geneva as an indepedant watchmaker. He soon becomes involved in developing complicated watches and restoration commis-sions for prestigious names.
1997 He exhibits his first concept watch that creates a sensation at the Basel Watch and Jewellery Show.
He founds his own brand URWERK with his brother Thomas and a de-signer friend, Martin Frei. Their goad: to create only truly original mo-dels.
1998 He is officially inducted into the AHCI (Académie Horlogère des
Créateurs Indépendants)
2001 Launch at Basel show of URWERK 102 nicknamed Sputnik because of its design reminiscent of the 1st Russian satellite.
2003 Baselworld launch of the URWERK 103. Produced in a small edition of 22, the watch created a tremendous stir. Encounter with Harry Winston representatives. Start of the Opus 5 adventure.
2004 The brand’s annual production reaches 55.
2006 Presentation of Opus 5 at Baselworld. URWERK now produces a 100 watches a year.
2007 Launch of the new collection, the 201.
