Eberhard & Co. reinterprets one of its most famous classics and introduces the model 8 JOURS in a precious new GRANDE TAILLE (BIG SIZE) version. Ten years have passed since Eberhard &Co. revolutionised the world of the hands in only... 8 days.

In fact, 8 JOURS by Eberhard & Co., was the first wristwatch to have an 8-day powerreserve indicator, thanks to a special device patented by Eberhard & Co., comprising two overlapping springs, whose combined length is over 1½ metres. By comparison, it is worth noting that a standard wrist watch has only one spring around 30 centimetres long.

Today, this unique, prestigious watch has become “large-sized” and is at last displaying its extraordinary mechanism! 8 JOURS GRANDE TAILLE, in fact, offers not only a steel case of considerable size (Ø 41mm) compared to that of its predecessor, but, for the benefit of its many admirers, reveals part of its precious, hand-winding, mechanical movement.

From the porthole on the case back, protected by a sapphire crystal, it is, in fact, possible to admire the bridge of the large going barrel with its skeleton figure “8” silhouetted by the colour treatment, which shows off the underlying “oeil de perdrix” finish on the underside of the 8, producing a three dimensional visual impact.

But that’s not all: through the 8, it is also possible to see 8JOURS GRANDE TAILLE’s second spring in action, with its exceptional length of 1 metre 25 centimetres. 8JOURS GRANDE TAILLE is waterproof to 3 atmospheres, has a sapphire crystal and is available with a silver dial and painted Roman numerals, or with a white dial and applied Arabic numerals. A white or black version with applied Roman numerals is also available.

Equipped with a crocodile wristband, 8JOURS GRANDE TAILLE is more a watch to admire rather than to read ... and 8 days are hardly enough to do it justice...
