A timely gift from the sea

In 2008, Ebel’s iconic Beluga line has been reinterpreted in a delightfully modern and dynamic manner that accentuates the rounded curves of its case, further enhanced by the subtle technique of progressive gem-setting. As the talking-piece of this new Beluga collection, Beluga Caviar is issued in a limited edition of 10 and brings a fascinating sense of aquatic life, relish and mystery to the wrist.

First brought to European by 14th century Venetian trading ships in the 14th century and often referred to as “black pearls”, caviar has come to epitomize luxury and exclusivity. The prestigious Beluga caviar variety, consisting of the largest eggs, has a rich, creamy flavor and a delicate texture, but is prized above all for its sheer rarity.

Echoes of the sea

In an era when the sheer scarcity of this delicacy means it is increasingly reserved strictly for connoisseurs, devotees can now carry its quintessence with them wherever they go in the shape of a stunningly “fresh” interpretation of a line with a predestined name: Beluga.  The opulent, gently curving 38mm case in 18K-750 white gold encircles an amazingly expressive “caviar-paved” dial. Glareproofed on both sides, the sapphire crystal lends even greater depth to this unique watch face, graced only by slender diamond-polished “leaf” hands and concentric circles composed of 86 unequivocally evocative onyx half spheres. This captivating picture is exquisitely framed by 162 brilliant-cut diamonds and 16 brilliant-cut black diamonds, totaling 3.84 carats. Reflecting the pearl-like or beaded motif and the same maritime inspiration, stingray was a natural choice for the finely flowing leather strap, secured with a matching white gold buckle.
