No, it's not the birth date of a historic horological figure or even a street number. 1608 is the number of times DeLaneau's new mechanical jumping hour/minute watch "jumps" every single day. "It was a challenge to do a jumping hour with an additional jumping minute complication, but it was important because today we read digits as fast as or faster than we read the traditional hands on watches," explains Cristina Thévenaz, brand and creative director of DeLaneau.

This timepiece is a stunning combination of a complicated movement and a fine jewellery work of art. The dial has an invisible setting adorned with the symbolic holly leaf, testimony of the remarkable fine jewellers work surrounding Cristina Thévenaz.
