Description

The new generation of watches launched by AQUANAUTIC is reinforced by the Superking which establish the brand within the marine world. This athletic watch can be described through three main qualities, strength, efficiency and preciseness, which takes us to a trip into the depth of a world with subtle and virile shades. This watch is a major timepiece with the multitude of details gathered to create a coherent entity. What best characterizes it, is its strong look supported by its technical capacities. It took two years of research to obtain this complex case. The Superking is a self-winding chronograph, Valjoux calibre 7750, with a 48 hours power reserve indication. This day/date chronograph is combined with a second time zone housed in the internal bezel. The uncluttered dial allows a great visibility thanks to the minutes and the hours counter in white LumiNova®, contrasting with the black background. The hands, also accentuated by the white LumiNova®, indicate each adjustment of time at all depths. The 52 mm case in glass sapphire with a double antireflection treatment increase the visibility. Two crowns were screwed symmetrically at the case made of stainless steel, titanium and black PVD to gives balance to architecture of the watch. The left crown enables to set the second time zone by adjusting the internal bezel housed between the glass sapphire and the dial. This chronograph, inspired by the diving world, guarantees maximal security in the ocean as well as in the day-to-day life, with a 500 meters (50 ATM) water resistance. It was elaborated to resist to tough conditions with the crowns locking system conceived as a decompression room and by combining two resistant materials which are steel for its anticorrosive proprieties and titanium – usually used in diving equipment – a combination of lightness and liability. Many references to submarines mark the Superking. The external rotating bezel with its rivets forms a porthole and the back of the case is shaped as a diving helmet. The strap in rubber with a triple folding buckle allows to be worn above a diving equipment or simply in the urban ocean. The horns were renewed into ailerons. And last but not least, is the propeller which is the hand of the seconds counter and the unquestionable brand’s signature. All these components constitute and help create AQUANAUTIC identity.
