The new Harry Winston Midnight collection embodies the quintessence of watchmaking without flourishes, imbued with a sense of authenticity and understatement. Launched at this year’s Baselworld Watch and Jewellery Show, it is dedicated to all those who are looking for a watch as a daily companion with an aesthetic that intuitively represents the identity and expertise of a brand that is always one step ahead of its time.

Their cases crafted in white or rose gold have been slimmed down to match the spirit of this collection of which elegance is the very core. The iconic Harry Winston arches have been subtly reworked and refined so as to merge seamlessly into its smooth outlines. The overall visual equilibrium highlights the time indications and endows them with a rare breed of distinction. This collection is composed of three models, including one specifically destined for women.

The new masculine variations on the Midnight theme adopt a 42 mm case. The simple version - Midnight Automatic - is equipped with a self-winding movement driving two delicately beveled traditional hands, along with a date display at 6 o’clock. The hour-markers opt for the classic baton shape, while the Harry Winston insignia appears at 12 o’clock. The big date version - Midnight Big Date - also powered by a self-winding movement, is entirely in tune with the spirit of existing Midnight watches. Its black or silver-toned dial features a circular guilloché pattern that plays with contemporary design in order to accentuate the aesthetic and technical refinement of the watch. The sunburst satin-brushed hour circle is excentered at 12 o’clock and rimmed by a slender gold ring that highlights the graceful dance of its hands, while a “porthole” at 6 o’clock reveals the twin-aperture date display. A single diamond is perched above the large date, reminding connoisseurs of Mr. Winston’s habit of keeping one of his gems in his pocket for the sheer pleasure of rolling between his fingers.

For ladies, the Midnight watches come in 32 and 39 mm diameters - Midnight Midsize and Midnight Large - either delicately set or unadorned. Exquisitely feminine and unostentatious, their very sobriety becomes their finest embellishment. The dainty bezel forms a slim border emphasizing the natural elegance of the watch. The Harry Winston arches are discreetly present facing the crown. The slender and graceful hour and minutes sweep across a rosé champagne colored dial that shimmers with the subtle glow of four hour-markers underscored by brilliant-cut diamonds. In the gem-set version, the extremely pure aesthetic is a lit up bezel paved with brilliant-cut diamonds.
