Case that protects the watch movement from dust, damp and knocks. The case is part of the visual appeal of a watch and is influenced by fashion and the personal taste of each buyer. The main parts of a LÈpine pocket watch case are: the case middle, inside which the movement is secured, and the caseband. On the bridge side, the middle of the case is closed by the back cover (sometimes with a second inside cover called a cuvette). On the dial side, it is closed by the bezel that holds the glass in place.
