Tact watch

In the late 18th century, Parisian high society took a dim view of anyone taking out his watch to look at the time. For this reason, in 1798 Abraham Louis Breguet invented a pocket watch which allowed people to tell the time by touch. He called it a "tact watch".

Today, tact watches are designed predominantly for the blind.
