Music box

A small case containing elements of a timekeeping mechanism (mainspring, gears) which activate a cylinder fitted with pins that cause the comb to vibrate (assembly of vibrating blades producing a musical sound). Geneva's music box industry dates back to the early 19th century. The striking mechanism in alarm clocks is replaced by music.
