Progress in energy consumption

The energy initially consumed by these circuits was comparable to standard circuits. Great progress was rapidly made, due chiefly to the advent of CMOS technology.

Several solutions were found for the motors: the synchronised balance wheel, the synchronised motor, the vibrating blade which works similarly to tuning fork watches, and finally the stepping motor. Almost all these solutions have been used for different reasons. The stepping motor eventually held sway as this solution helps achieve minimum energy consumption in industry.
