Birth of the silicon transistor

The rapid pace of development in electronic components led in particular to the advent of the high-gain silicon transistor which, in the 1960s, replaced mechanical watch contacts which were still associated with little resistance and capacity. 

The watch thus contained a real electronic circuit with 3 or 4 components. Transducers having meantime made progress, batteries and electronics gave the product good amplitude stability.
