Time to dare

A new star was born in the firmament of exceptional watchmaking. In 1995, Roger Dubuis was established with the bold vision to endow time with a unique and dazzling personality. Its founders were two exceptional personalities : the talented watchmaker Roger Dubuis and the visionary designer Carlos Dias. Their creed : to combine traditional horological expertise with avant-garde design and create innovative, highly complex, exclusive and trendsetting timepieces. Success came quickly, making Roger Dubuis one of the fastest growing and most creative names in Haute Horlogerie. The first collections, Hommage and Sympathie, were a tribute to traditional watchmaking with a contemporary twist.

Time to Make a Mark

Just four years after it was founded, in 1999 Roger Dubuis took the ?rst step towards achieving fully-edged movement manufacturing independence, a sure source of creativity and exclusivity, when it developed and produced its very Frst proprietary movements. Immediately, the brand opted for excellence with systematic certification by the Poinçon de Genève quality hallmark, one of the highest distinctions conferred on Geneva-made calibers. Roger Dubuis is the youngest manufacturer to have earned this recognition, hitherto reserved for a handful of centuries-old brands. Since then, all Roger Dubuis movements carry this prestigious hallmark. No other brand can claim as much. A distinctively high-end lifestyle defined the brand’s next collections, Too Much and MuchMore.


Time to Grow

Roger Dubuis expanded from just three employees in 1995 to over a hundred in 2001. The creation of a first building in Geneva was supposed to keep pace with the company’s rapid growth. The new Goldensquare collection was launched.


Time to Master

By 2003, Roger Dubuis had developed the expertise to produce its own balance and spring assembly, the very heart of a watch. In doing so, it joined the extremely select circle of authentic watch Manufactures ; those that can produce their entire movements in complete independence. The Followme collection, with its cross-shaped case, epitomized the unique extravagance and creativity of Roger Dubuis designs.

Time to Build

In 2005, Roger Dubuis inaugurated its new extended headquarters in magnificent glass-walled premises in Geneva, where the brand would accommodate its 400 employees and its 120 state-of-theart machines. Here, in this exceptional industrial facility, the brand produces and hand-finishes its watches to its own technical and aesthetic criteria, ensuring the highest level of exclusivity. The iconic Excalibur collection, with a spectacular double tourbillon, was launched.


Time to Impress

In 2006, Roger Dubuis presented six new movements at the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie in Geneva, three of which feature major innovations. This took the number of its exclusive calibers to 31 in less than 10 years, covering the entire range of horological complications. An extraordinary achievement. One year later, the Manufacture showcased its expertise with the Excalibur minute repeater, in-line perpetual calendar and tourbillon, a rare Grande Complication in the world of watchmaking.


Time to Partner

In August 2008, Roger Dubuis joined Richemont, one of the leading luxury goods groups, under the new leadership of Matthias Schuler. The Kingsquare collection was launched.


Time to Excel

In 2010, with the support of Richemont, Manufacture Roger Dubuis sets out to surpass an already exceptional level of excellence by perfecting its quality and control standards. The brand celebrates the fifth anniversary of the Excalibur collection with a powerful new design across the entire line, and a prestigious limited-edition Excalibur platinum trilogy. The brand has also unveiled four exclusive new movements, including a “pierced” automatic tourbillon (RD520), a pierced automatic chronograph with open dial micro-rotor (RD781), and the innovative “butterfly” bi-retrograde date indicator (RD14B).
