MV Agusta

JEANRICHARD places its specialised knowledge and expertise in the service of the famous Italian motorcycle manufacturer.

While the watchmaking know-how of the JEANRICHARD company is deeply rooted in the Swiss watch manufacturing tradition, its spirit is clearly influenced by Italian culture. Owned since 1988 by Mr. Luigi Macaluso, President of the Sowind Group, the brand is currently headed by his son, Massimo Macaluso. Both of them passionately interested in art and design, they have jointly succeeded in infusing JEANRICHARD with a touch of fresh spontaneity and originality that enables the brand to stand out in a refined and elegant manner among the most prestigious watch brands.

MV Agusta is a legendary name in the motorcycling world. It has in particular dominated international racing for many years, winning no less than 75 world championship titles. Above and beyond this impressive track record, MV Agusta is chiefly renowned for the refinement and aesthetic appeal of its prestigious motorcycles.

Far more than even style, a shared passion for precision mechanical engineering is the prime common denominator between JEANRICHARD and MV Agusta. As it is the case for JEANRICHARD’S in-house JR1000 movement, production of the engines and frames, as well as assembly of MV Agusta motorbikes, is handled on the company’s own production sites based in Varese, Italy.

Know-how, quality and exclusivity are the keynotes of this partnership that has materialised with the launch of various models: Paramount MV Agusta, Chronoscope Brutale, Chronoscope Brutale Nera, all in limited editions.

Giacomo Agostini or Ago

MV Agusta’s 12 victories in 1956 as well as John Surtees’ triumph in the 500cc world championship earned MV Agusta international recognition. However, it was in the 70s that the brand reached its peak with star driver Giacomo Agostini, who dominated motorcycling competition for almost a decade in the 350cc and 500cc categories. It is therefore no surprise that the brand concluded a partnership agreement with Giacomo Agostini - nicknamed Ago – who during his seventeen year career has won no less than fifteen world championship titles, ten titles on the Isle of Man and 123 Grand Prix. In the 1960 and 1970’s, Agostini became the first great star ever in the world of motor cycling, racing on 350 cc or 500 cc machines; he was the man to beat.

For this exceptional Ambassador, JEANRICHARD revealed a new collection of Time-keepers « for Ago »: the Bressel 1665 Chronograph Rattrapante Fourdroyante. Produced in a limited number of 50 pieces, with either a silver or a black dial, its case is in palladium - a precious metal part of the platinum family - and is enhanced by a “vintage” brown strap, procuring it a slight rebel masculine look.
